Period of Appointment
Fixed term until 31 January 2022
Hours per fortnight
73.50 hours per fortnight - flexible options available.
Duties
- Exercise the functions or powers of the Registrar in accordance with the Mental Health Act 2013.
- Provide high level strategic advice to the President of the Tribunal in relation to the operation and management of the Tribunal.
- Provide high level advice and assistance to stakeholders, including government agencies, professionals, the community and members of the Tribunals with regard to the functions, procedures, legislation and legal processes involved.
- Liaise with Mental Health Services regarding the needs of the Tribunal in order to conduct effective and efficient hearings.
- Ensure that the hearings of the Tribunal comply with the legislation.
- Responsible for oversight of business coming before the Tribunal including the development, implementation and maintenance of systems, procedures, policies and records management.
- Oversight the coordination of Tribunal members and allocation of matters for hearing.
- Responsible for the development and preparation of budgets, annual reports, business plans and any reporting required.
- Ensure that communication links between the Tribunals, the Departments and staff are effective in providing the accurate and timely exchange of information and advice necessary to enable statutory functions to be performed.
- In consultation with the President identify educational needs relating to the role and functions of the Tribunal.
- Provide high-level leadership, support and management of staff to ensure the efficient administration of the Tribunal.
