Tell me more…. To participate in public health nursing services within the Public Health Team of the Torres and Cape Hospital and Health Service (TCHHS). This may include communicable disease prevention, disease surveillance, immunisation services, and responding to notifiable diseases. To participate in the provision of information and advice on communicable disease and immunisation services for TCHHS staff and the community. You will be required to work with the TCHHS Public Health Nurse to provide a coordinated response to communicable disease control.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and relevant stakeholders.
Demonstrated knowledge of vaccines, the recommended vaccination schedule, vaccine cold chain procedures and vaccine preventable diseases, particularly those vaccine preventable diseases targeted by NHMRC as impacting on the health of Indigenous communities.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a range of service providers, Indigenous Health Workers and Indigenous communities in the provision of primary health care and health initiatives which reflects an understanding of Indigenous culture.

Total Remuneration value up to $115 508.00 comprising salary between $3623.90 - $3880.40 per fortnight
Generous employer contribution to superannuation (12.75%)

Requirements for the role:
Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and/or registration/endorsement with the appropriate registration authority or association. Certified copies of the required information must be provided to the appropriate supervisor/manager, prior to commencement of clinical duties. Current registration with the Australian Health Practice Registration Authority (APHRA) as a registered nurse and current practising certificate is mandatory.
Post graduate qualification in Public Health / Immunisation or working towards is highly desirable
