Reporting to the Principal Advisor – Electrical Safety, the Project Officer will work within Operational Programs team and provide support in the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of ESO compliance and engagement programs. The role will also assist in the delivery of strategic and operational objectives through research and stakeholder engagement to identify emerging issues, trends and strategies to improve electrical safety outcomes. The role will also undertake work as required in accordance with the key responsibilities

Key responsibilities
• Develop, monitor and evaluate initiatives and operational programs of work in line with the ESO strategic and operational goals and objectives;
• Contribute to the development of policies and procedures to support an evidenced-based approach to electrical safety compliance and engagement activity;
• Effectively engage and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders and other government agencies to progress ESO projects and programs;
• Extract and disseminate data and prepare written or oral advice to the senior leadership team and Executive Director in the form of reports, ministerial briefs and other correspondence, including timely responses to critical and sensitive issues.
• Understand and convey ESO and project objectives and expectations to relevant stakeholders and represent the ESO at meetings, presentations and committees as required;
• Be an effective team member promoting a positive culture supporting equity, anti-discrimination, OHS, ethical behaviour and act in accordance with the QPS legislative framework and Code of Conduct.
• Undertake other tasks as directed.
