JOB DESCRIPTION
IPG DXTRA Pty Ltd t/a Octagon Australia
Octagon is a creative agency with a specialism in sports and entertainment, employing over 600 people in 60 offices in 23 countries. In Asia-Pacific we are enjoying strong growth due to a clear focus on producing the type of creative campaign solutions that make us proud, and earn the attention of our client’s audiences.
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a talented and energetic Planner who will play a fundamental role in delivering inspirational creative and strategic output for a number of high profile clients in Australia, and across APAC.
While experience in the sports and entertainment sectors is not mandatory, what you must have is a belief in the power of partnership marketing to engage and earn attention. You also have proven experience working on smart, integrated campaigns of all scales, gained through similar roles as a Planner or Creative Strategist in a creative agency.
You will be a willing collaborator, working in close partnership with our strategy team, creatives, and client service teams alike. You will be confident in leading briefs from their inception through to briefing and production and be comfortable working across borderless teams and multiple timezones – as is often the nature with our local, APAC and global clients.
WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR
- Unearthing razor-sharp insights and delivering inspiring strategies for our clients
- Interrogating briefs and challenging clients and teams to bring out our best work
- Co-creation and ownership over the big idea
- Planning across a wide variety of channels (ATL & BTL)
- Spearheading key pitch responses, with key account leads
- Presenting and selling the thinking
- Establishing yourself as a thought leader within the agency
WHAT ELSE DO YOU NEED?
- A passion for sports and/or entertainment – whether you’ve worked in this space, or not
- Acute cultural awareness with knowledge of emerging trends
- Brand strategy experience
- An innately curious personality
- The ability to think creatively and conceptually
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Exceptional communication skills. You can write well, you speak with conviction, and can explain your thoughts and ideas succinctly
- The ability to build a strong and natural rapport with just about anyone at any level
- 6-8+ yrs industry experience, ideally with at least 2-3 yrs experience at a similar level in a creative agency.
If you see a fit, tell us about yourself, we’d love to hear from you.
