Assist in the delivery of a diverse portfolio of construction projects across regional Queensland with a renowned civil contractor.

The Company

Our client has a great local reputation for being the civil contractors of choice, offering fantastic project delivery and genuine relationships. As Project Engineer on a variety of challenging and high-profile projects you will be provided the path to Project Management and gain great career advancements. Each project team is hand-picked based on culture and capability; you will enjoy working with high performing individuals to achieve fantastic project outcomes. 

The current portfolio includes rehabilitation works, water and sewerage, road and highway, and other infrastructure projects valued up to $40m. The key purpose of this role will be to support the Project Manager with day-to-day activities and coordination of subcontractors with a focus on quality and delivery as per the client’s requirements.

The Opportunity

Reporting into the Project Manager, some of your day-to-day duties will include:

  • Mange day-to-day site-works and interactions
  • Project Scheduling and cost monitoring
  • Oversee quality assurance and quality control
  • Ensure on-site compliance with safety
  • Assist in reviewing work, preparing reports and completing required documentation
  • Coordinate subcontractors and other site-staff
  • Direct supervision and management of site-works

Required Skills & Experience

To be suitable for this role you will hold the following skills and experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the same or similar role
  • Tertiary qualification in the field of Civil Engineering or similar
  • Completed end to end projects within the Civil Infrastructure sector
  • Worked with government as a client
  • Proven management skills, practices, and planning ability
  • Knowledge of engineering and construction principles
  • Local experience is desired but not essential
