NSW Health Pathology currently has an opportunity available for an Administration Officer to join the Department of Medical Genomics at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital.

What you'll be doing

The Administration Officer position provides effective administration and office support services for the Department of Medical Genomics RPA Hospital. The duties will range from providing administration support for the Head of the Department, being the primary point of contact and reception for the department, providing support with rostering, meeting agendas and minutes, contact lists and supporting other senior staff where necessary. All tasks undertaken will be conducted in a professional and timely manner.

  1. Proven computer literacy and strong keyboard skills with speed and accuracy and demonstrated ability to learn and implement new software skills where necessary. 
  2. Proven experience working in a high workload and pressure area with successful track records to provide best performance as well as knowledge of clinical and corporate applications and work practices, and their relationship to other health care processes.
  3. Demonstrated ability and initiative to work both as part of a team and independently, supporting your team members and management, with sound knowledge of administrative procedures in health setting.
  4. Demonstrated strong customer focus and commitment to providing exceptional services to all clients (internal and external to the organistion).
  5. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including strong written and verbal English and be capable of professionally liaising and working with stakeholders across all levels of the organisation using different modes of communication in a technical and business context.
  6. Experience in diary management, scheduling meetings and coordinating conference room bookings, maintaining meeting agendas and recording meeting minutes, as well as the ability to assist in the development and maintenance of rosters.
